Through the North Atlantic – Photo Summary

What’s up on the North Atlantic Ocean?

We left Fort William, Scotland and sailed over 1,000 nautical miles to Longyearbyen Svalbard Norway with a sneak peak into Iceland and Greenland. It turns out that nautical miles are not marathon miles, it’s 17 days, and the route is subject to change.

  1. Seems like this was another epic journey, Sarah. What an experience that must have been to add to all your other cold cruising adventures. Plus, land viewed from the ocean is so very different from when one is standing on land gazing out towards the ocean, isn’t it?

    • The ocean’s mystery is captivating, I JUST love waiting around to see what emerges from the water, we’re always in the presence of a variety of gulls flying next to the ship and other birds.

Visiting Iceland from the ship was a good opportunity to see marine life even before setting foot on land. I should get around writing about the journey but I’ve been so busy with work.

      • I guess it is work that makes these wonderful trips possible, so at least you have your priorities right, Sarah. 😁
